Soul Kitchen - Dhahran

I was wandering around Al Rashid Mall looking for a decent restaurant and I stumbled upon a newly opened restaurant called Soul Kitchen.  It seems interesting enough, so I tried it out.

It's an Asian Cuisine Restaurant known for their sea food, steaks, and sushi. They have an extensive menu here, click on this link for their menu: http://soulkitchen.com.sa/menu/ .  I had a hard time to choose on what to order as I really want to try out most of the dishes.  But since I plan to eat to another restaurant after this, I only ordered the following:

Complimentary Pita Bread (Kuboos)

Crazy Maki

Stir Fried Oriental Noodles

Verano Cocktail

I enjoyed eating the Crazy Maki and its my first time to try it out.  Crazy Maki is a combination of shrimp, avocado, cucumber, crab meat, caviar, tempura flakes, sesame seeds, and chili powder, topped up with a special spicy mayonnaise.  With all that in there, what could go wrong...  The noodles were okay, but not great.  The verano was also good and I ordered twice mainly because I was thirsty.

Overall, I enjoyed dinning here despite breaking up my wallet for it because prices here are on the high side.  But I enjoy new experiences and dishes so it was worth it for me.

More Than Sushi - Dhahran

We were walking inside Dhahran Mall when we stumbled to this sushi restaurant called "More Than Sushi".  It's the first time we encountered sushi in conveyors here in Saudi Arabia so we tried it out.

Most of my friends experience eating sushi this way for the first time so they really enjoyed it a lot.  There are only a few Japanese restaurants in these parts so this is a treat for us.  The variety of sushi being served in the conveyor belt is also extensive so we had our fill and a bit more.

Gulf Royal Chinese Restaurant Dhahran

I've been craving for Chinese food again.  Since we are in Al Rashid Mall in Dhahran, I tried to search the mall directory if there is a Chinese restaurant near by.  Fortunately, there is one inside the mall, so we proceed there immediately. Its name is Gulf Royal Chinese Restaurant, located on the 2nd level of the mall.

I was impressed when we entered the restaurant.  It seems like you're inside a theater or a casino.  Although the lights are more dimmer than usual, the ambiance is quite better than most Chinese restaurants I've been to.  The service crew are courteous and assisted us to our table so we can start ordering food.

As I looked into their menu, I noticed that this restaurant is more of an Asian-fusion restaurant.  They also serve Japanese, Indian, and Thai food. Here is their menu:

It took us quite a while to make our order due to their extensive menu. Then finally, we placed our order.
Complimentary Fish Crackers whilw waiting for our order

Passion Iced Tea

Crab & Corn Soup

Crispy Calamari

Steamed Shrimp Dumpling

BBQ Beef Teriyaki Rolls

Food was great... delicious and full of flavors.  A rare treat here in Saudi Arabia.

Inside Saudi Aramco

It's Friday. And our friend invited us to visit Saudi Aramco Camp. Saudi Aramco is one of the top companies here. It is also one of the most biggest oil producing companies worldwide. It will truly be a privilege to visit this place.

First, we are off to the Friday Mass. It is held in one of the gymnasiums in the camp. By the way, we cannot just take pictures inside the camp. There are only certain places where it is allowed. It was a typical Mass similar to those we have in the Philippines. But, a bit different because this time, you are with other nationalities. Americans, Indians, Sri Lankans, Africans, Chinese, Europeans, and many others, all converged to one place.

Then we head to the golf course. It was a huge one. Only authorized people are allowed to be there so we were limited just in the edges of the course. It was a sunny hot day. Good thing there are water stations all around. And yes, the water was ice cold!

Finally, we head to the park. It was a beautiful park filled with lush landscapes and fish ponds. Here, employees and guests can have a picnic. There are several picnic tables in athe area. A perfect way to spend the day to just eat and relax.

We had a great time in Saudi Aramco Camp. Although we didn't catch the garage sale this time. We heard there are a lot of good stuff here. Hopefully, when we comeback, we can catch the garage sale and visit some of the cafeterias here. Till next time folks!
